An Open Letter to LifePoint Church

When I think of what God did through our efforts this weekend all I can say is Praise God! We had well over 2,000 people at the Egg-stravaganza and a record high of 464 in attendance for Easter Services Sunday Morning. Through all of it LifePoint volunteers were there to help direct and serve people in every way that you can imagine. Our goal is for every member to be a minister and we had MANY from every age group ministering this weekend! LifePoint you are A.W.E.S.O.M.E!

All in - We had well over 100 people stuffing eggs, just as many, if not more, helping at the egg hunt, and then so many more serving on our new Guest Services Team. It just goes to show that LifePoint volunteers were all in in serving with all their heart for this amazing weekend.
Obey the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. Remember the great things he has done for you.
- 1 Samuel 12:24 NIV
Welcoming - One young mother told Bridget that her family was searching for a church home and that our volunteers were so friendly and welcoming at the Egg-stravaganza that she thought she would give LifePoint a try. She came and brought her family and said that she would be back!
Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
- Hebrews 13:2 NIV
Excellence - Over and over people kept on telling me how well this event and our Sunday services went. It moved people. When we adopt a spirit of excellence in our service and worship of the Lord, God is pleased and the hearts of people are moved.
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
- Colossians 3:23-24 ESV
Servant hearted - There is no way we could have pulled off either event if we did not have so many people from key leaders to door greeters who were willing to give up a big part of two Saturdays and a very early Easter Sunday morning. Jesus told us that the “son of man came not to be served but to serve...” Matthew 20:28 NET

“We are never more like Jesus than when we serve others.”
- Dr. Duane Elmer
On demand - Where we needed you, you were willing to go, and you had a great attitude the whole time. From stuffing eggs to picking up trash, handing out hot dogs, parking cars, greeting strangers, holding babies, changing diapers, playing in the band, changing busted light bulbs, praying with new believers... there are too many jobs to list, but you did them all with love in your heart and excellence!
God loves a man who gives because he wants to give.
2 Cor 9:7 NLV
Monumental - And because all of the above is true, we helped to open the path for God to speak into people’s hearts to set them free from sin, hurt, pain and to find new life in Him. Your kind words, your sacrificial service, and the warmth of your smile helped open hearts to the Gospel. I will never forget this weekend, my heart was moved by your willingness to serve and be Jesus to people, both strangers and long time family members.
I thank my God every time I remember you, always praying with joy for all of you. I thank God for the help you gave me while I preached the Good News—help you gave from the first day you believed until now. God began doing a good work in you, and I am sure he will continue it until it is finished when Jesus Christ comes again.
                          Philippians 1:3-6 NCV
Expressed God's love - And through it all we were able to express God’s love to people in a tangible way. One person shared that their family is facing very difficult times and that being able to eat lunch, hunt eggs, and even take some hot dogs home for later was a major blessing for the whole family. She shared specifically that they just needed some encouragement, and they found it through your efforts this weekend. Christ’s love shined through you!
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
- Matthew 25:40

As your pastor I could not possibly be any more happy or appropriately proud of our church. You represented Christ in a powerful way. It is an honor to serve a group of believers who are as passionate about giving to others as you are. I know many people from outside our church really enjoyed this weekend, but there is no way they could ever come close to the joy we feel in providing such powerful blessings to our community. May the joy we experience in Christ fill our lives and homes and may our love for Christ continue to grow as we become conformed more and more into the people God wants us to be!
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Kelly
